NetBaron REST-API start guide

1. General

With the NetBaron REST API, you can effortlessly implement data transfer to other systems. Contact our sales team or your NetBaron contact person for more information about the capabilities of the APIs and to start the API integration.

The following methods are supported, depending on the API being used. API-specific methods and parameters can be found in our API-documentation.

Data retrieval (GET)
Data creation (POST)
Data update (PUT)
Data deletion (DELETE)

All data is transmitted securely via the HTTPS protocol.

2. Opening the connection

In short, opening a REST API connection to NetBaron requires the following:

Request an API key that the other system uses to authenticate with NetBaron. The access key will be provided to the integration implementer.
Test the connection with GET /auth/validate endpoint.
Implement the integration using your system's API calls.
Test the functionality in the designated test environment.
Move to production environment: Inform the designated NetBaron contact person or support that the API integration is ready for production transfer. Invoicing stars with the opening of the production interface.
Start using!

If necessary, a kickoff meeting for the integration project can be arranged via Teams, where we will go through the project phases, objectives in more detail, and we can answer any questions you may have about using the APIs. The kickoff meeting will be arranged between customer, the integration implementer, and the NetBaron project manager.

4. Test Environment

A test environment will be opened for the API integration, where the implementation and functionalities must be built and confirmed before moving to production. The testing organization is typically opened on the same server where the actual production organization is located.

Once the integration has been confirmed as ready in the test organization, the APIs can be opened to the production organization by contacting the project manager or NetBaron support indicated in the opening.

The test organization is valid by default for 12 months from the beginning of project.
